Name: Christine Kirchstein From: "Madison, oh"	"I to have a 8yr old angel, down here for a visit, her name is kelly she has SMA Type II. she has never walked. She has been in a power chair since 2yrs old. she is my angel. She has a sister Kate who is 10yrs old. She is fine. Kelly has remained pretty healthy. She had a couple of pneumonias, which hospitalized her. We are now addressing the scolosis. No back surgery yet, but her wheelchair will get a Signature seating, which means they take a mold of her back and make a supportive back for her wheelchair. She has contractures of the knees, ankles, and hips, which is really out of ""our"" hands, it is enivadable that this is going to happen. Kelly now wears KAFO brace at nite. They have a hinge at the knee to help straighten out the contracture as much as possible to give some comfort. What these children endour, but still remain smiling is beyond me. They are truley angels, and we as parents are Gods special people to raise these children, we were chosen." Added: 26-Aug-00

I would love to hear from you. Does your little angels have feeding tubes? My first sons name was Cameron, and my new little angels name is Connor.
